3D Cell

In the early beginning of the year, the class began with the lesson of a cell. We soon became capable of knowing the functions of the cell but the class made a 3D cell to make it more recognizable.Every student was partnered with a person and was assigned a part of a cell to make. Fortunately, I had the advantage of having to design the cell membrane and the ribosomes. To make this possible, a website called, Tinkercad help to digitally design the model and then 3D print it out.  When designing the model, it was very complex. The first priority was to see if the design was touching the platform. Then came making the tiny ribosomes and also making sure it reached just accurately on the surface of the cell.  When this portion was done, then came the cell membrane, where a circular ring was digitally placed on top of the cell. This too had to make sure it was placed onto the surface of the cell. When all was done on the computer, then came the patience of waiting for it to print out. To keep in mind this model will not print very quickly, this may take hours in my case. In my opinion, this project's toughest moment for me was when to make sure that every object was placed right onto the cell's surface. Not too high or not too low.But overall, this small project helped me have a better visualization of a cell.
